Were “bath salts” involved in a double-murder/suicide in Washington State?

Police in Washington State now believe that “bath salts” may have been involved in a bizarre double murder-suicide that took the lives of an army medic, his wife, and their son. On April 5, according to a report in the Bellingham Herald, Army Sgt. David Stewart fatally shot his wife and then himself as police tried to pull him over for speeding on Interstate 5. Their 5-year-old son Jordan was later found asphyxiated at home.
The Seattle Times reported that a package of “Lady Bubbles” bath salts that were found in Stewart’s pocket contained MPDV and mephedrone. Forensic toxicology tests have been ordered to determine if the drugs were present in the bodies of Stewart and his wife.
