The two-part post on evaluating diastolic dysfunction using emergency bedside echocardiography — to be found at the Emergency Ultrasound Podcast — is just all-out superb. This is a complex topic that is difficult to understand, and I hadn’t really grasped it even after several years of thinking about it. Mike Mallin and Matt Dawson do a great job of explaining the basics in two 30-minute podcasts, and it now makes perfect sense Absolutely essential viewing for anyone interested in emergency echo evaluation of the heart. This is a valuable technique to add to your RuSH exam.
